Why did you become a physiotherapist?

Actually it started by accident.  I really loved to help and serve other people basically.  I never knew about physiotherapy before.  One day, I accompanied my friend to Gedung Rektorat Universitas Indonesia, and I found a brochure about the physiotherapy course in Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia.   I talked to my parents and they supported me in doing the entrance test.  I passed the test and did my study at the Program Studi S1 Profesi Fisioterapi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Hasanuddin.  I enjoy working as a physiotherapist and fell in love with the field of sports physiotherapy.  I think that it is so fun to meet and help other people with various problems with physiotherapy treatment.

What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?

I enjoy helping all kinds of people. I have met various patients from kids to the elderly.  I have almost 12+ years of experience.  I have met patients from professional workers to athletes. As I work in the field of sport and spinal physiotherapy, I have been dealing with so many branches of sport and treated so many types of back problems.  Up until now, 60-70% of my clientele are people who do sports and exercise, like running, gym, golf, paddle, obstacle, swimming, and basketball, etc.

Interesting things you have done in your career?

I have joined the physiotherapist team for the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games 2018.  During that time we served athletes and teams from every participating country.  So fun to meet so many people with different languages and approaches.

What do you do to keep fit?

Gym and running is my passion, I exercise at least 3-5 times a week. I try my best to keep my body healthy because I believe that it is very important to perform my job as a sports physiotherapist.

Greatest sporting achievement?

My first Full Marathon at Maybank Bali Marathon 2024. That was the goal from 2020 before the pandemic began and was achieved in 2024.  I did my own program and I know I can do better.  Aiming for another marathon this year or next.

If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?

Rome,  I really love the architecture and the history.  Or maybe any of the cities that hold the World Major Marathons.  I still hope that someday I can complete one of the 6+WMMs.

Favorite thing to do outside work?

Travelling, exercising and running.  Travelling is most important to me as it keeps my mind relaxed. I travel as I do my marathon trips too.

Where did you grow up?

Bogor. I was born in Bogor city, about 2 hours away from Jakarta. When I studied in college, I moved to Jakarta. My family still lives in Bogor until now.

What is your food weakness?

I love chocolate and ice cream. I cannot resist any kind of chocolate and ice cream dessert. There’s always a room in my stomach for this sweet thing.
