Why did you become a Physiotherapist?

When I was a teenager, I went to a dental clinic for my dental appointment.  It had a physiotherapy service as well in the clinic.  I remembered sitting in the waiting room and watching the physiotherapist working.  I thought to myself, one day I wanted to do that – helping people with their injuries with my hands only, no medicine, no surgery.  That sounded cool to me.

What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?

I enjoy helping patients who want to be active in their own recovery.  People who are motivated to exercise and to participate in the process.  They tend to have the best outcome and the fastest results.

Interesting things you have done in your career?

I have once treated the US ambassador in a clinic inside a shopping mall.  I remembered they had the secret service coming in to evaluate security of the whole mall and making a big deal of the visit.  It was a privilege and honor to treat the Ambassador.

What do you do to keep fit?

Now I only have time to do gym work at home.  I use mostly body weight exercises and machines that use body weight as resistance.  I use the airwalker for cardio with some modified techniques.  And some barbells for shoulders and legs.

If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?

Base camp Mt Everest, Great Migration in Serengeti, Temples of the Nile.
