At first, I had no intention of continuing my education at university. However, during my final year of high school, I was selected as one of the eligible students to apply for university through Indonesia’s SNMPTN admission pathway. I didn’t want to waste such a valuable opportunity, so I changed my mind. After discussing it with my parents, I decided to study Sports Science because I have always been passionate about sports, especially football.
I was eventually accepted into the Sports Science program at Yogyakarta State University (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta). In the fourth semester, students were required to choose one of four specializations: Sports Management, Physical Fitness, Therapy and Rehabilitation, or Adaptive Sports. I chose Therapy and Rehabilitation, which led me to become a masseur/sport therapist, the profession I practice today.
I enjoy working with all of my clients because I genuinely love helping them recover from injuries, relieve pain, and improve their physical performance.
One of the highlights of my career has been providing treatment to an Indonesian national football legend, as well as players from the Indonesian national futsal team and national volleyball team. It was an unforgettable experience to work with athletes I had often watched on television.
I regularly go running and occasionally do strength training, especially for my upper body, to improve the muscle strength and endurance needed for massage therapy.
My greatest sporting achievement was winning the Jeonsa Cup in Malaysia in 2016 after defeating an Australian club in a penalty shootout.
I enjoy playing football and video games. Football is a part of my life and will always be my favorite sport.
I grew up in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
