It all started with my strong interest in biology back in junior high school. I was always fascinated by the human body and how it functions as one incredible system. In high school, my career counselor suggested that I pursue Physiotherapy at Universitas Indonesia. At the time, I had absolutely no idea what the major was about or what the career prospects would be like, but I decided to take my shot anyway. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I enjoy treating patients of all ages, especially those with sports and musculoskeletal conditions. But if I had to choose, I’d say I enjoy working with patients who are motivated and willing to work together throughout the rehabilitation process. Recovery isn’t just about what happens in the clinic it’s also about the effort patients put in at home. Seeing that teamwork pay off is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. That’s when the magic happens.
One of the most memorable moments in my career was treating an international patient who didn’t speak Indonesian or English. We communicated almost entirely through Google Translate and body language throughout the session. It was challenging, but also a lot of fun. That experience reminded me that good communication isn’t always about speaking the same language and that I should probably start learning another one!
